Hectic Monday
Yes, it’s the beginning of yet another hectic work week. With all of the bad economic news and things throughout the world seemingly spinning out of control, we are all searching for away to relax and ease the stress and strain of daily living.
If you are like most people and you just can’t afford to jet off to some tropical relaxing location or you can’t afford to spend a peaceful day at the spa; I would like to suggest a much less expensive alternative, lighting an aromatherapy candle. Sometimes the simplest things can help the most and burning scented jar candles in relaxing fragrances can help to ease the tensions of the day.

Easy Chair
After coming home from a difficult day at work or the stress of watching the evening news, you can draw a warm bath light a scented soy candle with the fragrance of lavender, lilac, or ylang ylang and feel the tensions of the day melt away. You can also sit back in your favorite easy chair, open a good book, light a scented chunk candle in the relaxing fragrance of your choice and allow those cares and worries to slip away.

Spring Rains
The last couple of days I have seen a very welcome sight, the beginning of spring rains. There is nothing more refreshing than these welcome rains that seem to clear the air of the doldrums of winter.
You can also welcome the scent of spring rains into your home by lighting scented chunk candles in fragrances that can mimic this very refreshing aroma. Since it is rather difficult to throw open the windows with the rain pouring down to catch that air freshening aroma, why not light a scented jar candle to get a similar effect.

Spring Rain Scented Jar Candle
Needless to say, one of my favorite fragrances to bring on memories of refreshing rains, is our scented soy candle with the fragrance called Spring Rain. This scent captures the essence of a spring rain in a beautiful country flower garden. Another favorite is Storm Watch, this fragrance conjours up memories of sitting in your front porch swing as you can see and smell the impending storm clouds and rains moving in.
We have an abundant amount of fragrances in our scented soy chunk candles to capture your imagination and fill your home with the magical aromas of spring.

Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus has a history dating back to the 1700s when Captain James Cook’s expedition arrived at Botany Bay in Australia and discovered this amazing tree from the myrtle family. Since this discovery the species has been introduced to many tropical areas and is now grown around the world.
The leaves of this tree are well known for their astounding medicinal qualities. Topical ointments used by the aborigines have been used to heal wounds and treat fungal infections. Scented soy chunk candles and aromatherapy candles scented with the essential oils from eucalyptus are wonderful for treating congestion from the common cold, reduce fevers and inflammation. The fragrance of eucalyptus can enhance concentration and thought processes and help to relieve stress and anxiety. The clean fresh scent from a eucalyptus scented jar candle can help to purify the air due to the antiseptic and antibacterial properties of the essential oil from this leaf.

Eucalyptus Scented Jar Candle
If you are feeling a little under the weather, stress out, or you have caught a spring cold; light a scented soy candle with the aroma of eucalyptus and let it’s healing properties go to work.

Ylang Ylang Flower
Today I would like to give a little background on one of my favorite fragrances, Ylang Ylang. The essential oils derived from the flower of the cananga tree of the custard-apple family, which grows in the Asian regions of the Phillipines and Indonesia. These essential oils are used in perfumes and aromatherapy candles. The aroma of these scented soy chunk candles is absolutely heavenly, with rich deep notes of custard and rubber and bright notes of jasmine and neroli.

Ylang Ylang Scented Jar Candle
When these scented jar candles are used for aromatherapy the fragrance of ylang ylang is useful for relieving high blood pressure, reducing anxiety, and relieving depression. It has long been touted as an aphrodisiac because the rich wonderful aroma has an attraction to the opposite sex, this is why the fragrance is used in many perfumes.
If you have had a really stressful day there is nothing better than drawing a warm relaxing bath and lighting a ylang ylang scented soy candle and letting your cares melt away.

Lavender
Lavender has a very interesting history dating back nearly 2,500 years. It was used by the Egyptians in ancient times for mummification by wrapping the deceased in shrouds that were soaked in the fragrance of lavender. The Romans used lavender for everything from scenting their baths, using it’s fragrance as a perfume, as an insect repellent, and even to flavor their foods. During the Great Plague of the 17th Century, people would fasten bouquets of fresh lavender to their wrists in order to stave off the threat of the Black Death. When you hear the nursery rhyme of Ring Around the Rosie, you hear the reference to the use of lavender in the verse, “A pocket full of posies”, the posies were the bouquets of lavender.

Lavender Scented Jar Candle
Today, lavender scented jar candles are one of the more popular scents. When used in aromatherapy candles it’s properties are well known for soothing, calming, and uplifting, which leaves users with a sense of calm and balance. The fragrance of lavender is also known for it’s ability to help with transitioning your senses and allowing you to have a more restful sleep. These scented candles not only have a wonderful aroma, but the scented soy chunk candles are a beautiful addition to your decorative surroundings.

Vanilla Orchid
I thought it might be interesting to look at the history of some of our favorite fragrances in scented jar candles and one of the perennial favorites is vanilla. This is the one fragrance in scented soy candles that is enjoyed by everyone. Vanilla is harvested from the vanilla orchid where each flower produces the vanilla pod or bean. There are four areas in the world where this very distinctive orchid is grown, Madagascar, Mexico, Tahiti, and West India.
The extraordinary flavor and aroma of vanilla has been around for centuries and was first discovered in the Mazantla valley on the Gulf Coast of Mexico during the fifteenth century.

Very Vanilla Scented Jar Candle
As we all know vanilla is widely used for culinary purposes, like ice cream or baking cookies, but it is very well known for it’s soothing and calming fragrance, so it is also used in perfumes, soaps, and of course scented soy chunk candles. The fragrance of vanilla is widely used in aromatherapy candles because the medicinal properties of the aroma can reduce stress and promote calming, and is even thought by some to be an aphrodisiac.
We offer our scented chunk candle in “Very Vanilla”, which has that sweet, creamy, and oh so soothing fragrance of the bean from the beautiful vanilla orchid.

Relaxing
Thankfully we are at the end of the week, time to find relaxing activities. Yesterday I wrote a post about using aromatherapy candles to stimulate and get our creative juices flowing, but on the flip-side we also need to use fragrances to calm and de-stress. Everyone’s lives are so full of sights, sounds and activities that we all find ourselves on sensory overload. That’s when it’s time to search for that ahhhh moment where we can feel our bodies totally relax and clear the clutter from our minds that has accumulated through the week.

Lavender Scented Jar Candle
I have written previous posts about relaxing activities, like reading a book, or sipping a glass of wine, but one of the most important elements of relaxation is fragrance and using scented soy candles to find that ahhhh moment. Without question, one of the most relaxing aromas in a scented jar candle is lavender. The mere fragrance of lavender helps to release all of the negative energy surrounding your being and is even a fantastic sleep aid.
There are so many soothing and relaxing fragrances in scented chunk candles that can assist with calming and quieting the anxieties and frustrations of our everyday lives. Lighting your favorite tranquil aroma will help you find that ahhh moment and then you can relax and enjoy the weekend.

Creative Thinking
Do you have those days when the creative juices just aren’t flowing? Whether you’re trying to perform tasks at home or executing assignments at work. Adding fragrance to a room or area by utilizing scented soy candles can aid in our creativity more than we can even imagine. Fragrance is a powerful pathway to our creativity, a potent mental stimulant that not only imparts energy and creativity, but also a sense of well-being.

Lemon Scented Jar Candle
There are aromatherapy candles with fragrances specifically targeted towards mental stimulation and clarity. Some of the most powerful and inspiring scents are citrus fragrances. The aroma of lemon increases your ability for concentration and gives you clarity to tackle the tasks at hand. Lime is another aid for mental alertness and helps to increase your mental energy. There are other fragrances, like Basil Sage Mint that not only sharpens the senses and give mental clarity, but also has a calm soothing effect in stressful situations. Using scented jar candles to surround yourself with fragrances that energize the brain can make life a little easier when trying to accomplish certain tasks throughout the day.
If you are having difficulty staying focused and confronting the many chores that need to get done it definitely helps to find that scented chunk candle that will get your brain energized and keep those creative juices humming along.

Think Spring
I walked outside this morning and finally heard some of the early spring birds singing and it made me really long for the scents of spring. Especially the soft lilting melody of the song sparrow, but the air outside is still chilly and devoid of those wonderful spring fragrances.
I began looking through my selection of fragrance blasters to find those wonderful scents of spring to use in my wax melter. You can also create your season of spring with scented jar candles or fragrance lamps.
Just to give you some ideas, here are some of my favorite fragrances of spring.
- Lilac That sweet heady fragrance of lilac bushes blooming in the spring.
- Spring Rain The sweet smell of a fresh spring rain in a flower garden.
- Freesia The exquisite scent of this very classic flower.
- Lily of the Valley The pleasant aroma of an English countryside.
- Victorian Rose The luscious fragrance of a spring rose garden.

Lilac Bush
These are just a few of the wonderful aromas of spring. If your longing for spring and just can’t wait for mother nature to provide those fragrances, light a scented soy chunk candle and create your own spring garden in your home.
